The Reverend William Hough

Reverend William Hough most recently was minister of Allegheny Valley Baptist Church, Natrona Heights, PA. His wife’s name is Annette. They have 2 children, Ruthie who lives at home with them, and Rebecca who went to live with the Lord.  Rev. Hough was born, raised, and educated in Massachusetts.  His wife, Annette, is a native of Monongahela, PA(about 20 minutes north of Pittsburgh).

Rev. Hough graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  His ordination with American Baptist Churches was in 1988.  He has held pastoral positions with churches in Maine, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.  He has taught “Old Testament Survey” class for ABCOPAD’s Lay Pastoral Institute, where he shared his knowledge of and enthusiasm for the Old Testament.  He taught “Systematic Theology” through the Certified Lay Institute program 4-5 times at Grace Evangelical Seminary.  He has also led “The Purpose Driven Life” classes.

Rev. Hough loves shepherding people.  In his previous church, he was involved with leading Sunday morning and evening messages and the Wednesday evening Bible Study.  He has an interest in missions.  He enjoys visitations.  He considers being called into the pastorate “to be brought into a world of both privilege and responsibility, both of which I take seriously and with a sense of joy.  It is a privilege to be able to bring to a hurting and dying world a message of hope and life, a message that can transform darkness into light and death into life.”

Rev. Hough likes to read and travel when possible.  He loves history, especially Civil War history.  He is an avid walker and also an avid baseball sports fan.  Rev. Hough and his wife are interested in puppet ministry.  Annette has a degree in Civil Engineering, has taught high school math, was a church secretary, and currently teaches physics at a Christian school in Chambersburg.  She is interested in crafts and enjoys making bead jewelry.  She is very supportive of her husband’s ministry.

Ruthie likes drawing, books, and movies.  She especially likes the books and movie “The Chronicles of Narnia.”  She is loveable and caring and is a young evangelist, inviting other children to church events. She likes to draw pictures of her favorite animal (pig) and pictures of her sister.
